Visit to TACC – Warning, Andy BFS content

Magnum 1 and 2 in the TACC datacenter. Amazing. Magnum = a 5-stage, 3500 port IB switch @ TACC. Cable management? …I’d call that cable execution! More details (and Andy’s math) here:

The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated…

For all of you that were wondering, I’ve left HP ProCurve for a new opportunity, Arista Networks. Arista is a 10 gigabit Ethernet provider, focusing on next generation data center interconnect. I’ll still be around to answer questions and post thoughts, even if they are about ProCurve. However, I may have more of a 10 [...]

I got p0wned!

So it looks like I was running an older version of Wordpress for my blog and fell victim to this vulnerability. NOT PRETTY. Cleaned it all up and upgraded to 2.5, but man, what a pain. Either way, hope no one visited and got a virus from the hidden frame code. I’ll be more diligent to [...]

Pros:
Form factor
3G
Great radio/call clarity
Bluetooth 1.2 for stereo headphones and better sound quality
It’s just cool…

Cons:

Battery life is so-so with 3G on all the time (you can disable it)
No touchscreen
Smartphone versus Pocket [...]

A thousand words

In network security discussions we discuss trust, weakest links, and elements of danger. This pic just shows all of them…in no specific order. Shot going to lunch this week, and yes…he’s sleeping.

Welcome

This is the first post on networknick.net. I’ve created this site to share knowledge, tools, and tricks for network administrators, architects, and managers that use ProCurve networking products. I’ll be posting links to tools that I use daily, juicy tidbits regarding up and coming products, and even answering a few questions. Excuse the appearance, hopefully [...]
